Parveen Baria – Ex Banker Barclays Bank

Thanks for the fabulous time you gave us on the Sri Lanka Trip . This was a very memorable trip with relaxed itinerary , good hotels and off course great company (co-passengers) . Great job done by you and your team . Must compliment the good work done in selecting the Hotels. All the hotels were good and comfortable of which some were located in absolute scenic places . Especially the Hotel in Bentota (Hotel Heritance Ahungalla) with the clean beach and great swimming pools. Hotel in Colombo (The Galadri Hotel) was also situated with the sea view and beach across the road and with background of old Parliament House. . Both the hotels in Nuwara Eliya were very well located – The Galway Forest Lodge, situated at the tea plantations and the St Andrew Hotel near market had good Ambience. Hotel Suisse in Kandy was also well located and comfortable with lovely music /band playing at dinner time. The lunch arranged at some places had excellent scenic view which were quite an experience in itself. e.g. Kitulgala (on the way to Nuwara Eliya – Where the film Bridge on the rover was shot). Absolutely stunning sight with the river flowing amidst green dense forest. Extremely picturesque Gregory Lake – Nuwara Eliya – Lovely lake sight view. Ramoda Falls (near Kandy) – Restaurant with the Ramoda falls as background and the scenic beauty around the falls . Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage ( en-route Kandy to Bentota ) – having lunch while watching elephants bathing is something unique experience. The river Safari (optional) in Madhu Ganga was worth every penny . The botanical gardens tour at Nuwara Eliya and Kandy were good though I personally preferred the The Hakgala Garden at Nuwara Eliya since it was situated in the hills with abundance of greenery . The Tooth Relic Temple of Buddha in Kandy is awesome and in the night it appeared more colourful. Tough all the cities visited by us were good for each had its own beauty , I personally preferred Nuwara Eliya ( called the little England) because of the abundance of greenery (green carpet) with grassland in valleys and the large tea estates on the slopes which made a beautiful landscape . Truly God’s gift to the country . Must also mention that we had a very good support team in Sri Lanka – Our tour guide Mr Ajanta was hilarious and kept us entertained throughout 8 days in Sri Lanka, Sumeet our Coach driver was excellent especially when it came manoeuvring on the hills on the narrow roads and the very helpful Mahesh . There was never a dull moment for we had loads of jokes and laughter . It was a one big family. Hoshang, you not only gave us a great time but what is worth mentioning is the personalised attention you give to all of us which makes all the difference.
